A Gathering Spot for LA Cosplayers
For those unfamiliar with Adrianne Curry, she gained notoriety as the first winner of America’s Next Top Model in 2003. She went on to appear on VH1’s Surreal Life where she met her husband, Brady Bunch actor Christopher Knight. Not only is she an avid World of Warcraft player, but she’s a Comic Con regular and cosplayer (cosplay = costume play) who uses her Twitter account to post pictures her latest cosplay pics.
Attention all manga enthusiasts, this summer¹s most anticipated anime, AM2, manga and music convention this coming 4th of July weekend will be hosting a liquidation sale for the world-famous manga giant, TokyoPop, in its exhibit hall with special discounts made only to Passport holders. Anime Conji is run by a group of local San Diego fans who have volunteered their time and effort toward putting together a great and unique convention. We have an interest in providing entertainment for like-minded individuals. Who better to bring the fun than the fans themselves? Our goal is to promote fandom culture as a whole and to foster the subculture of anime fandom in San Diego and beyond.
Anime Conji is sponsored by the San Diego Speculative Fiction Society (SanSFiS), which is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) educational non-profit corporation. Hello Everyone! If you haven’t heard by now, the ladies of Otaku Sanctuary are planning a SoCal Cosplay Ball on May 14th, 2011 in Sierra Madre, CA.

What is the SoCal Cosplay Ball you ask?
It is a cosplay gathering in the Los Angeles area that will be a night of cosplay elegance. The night will be filled with cosplayers, live entertainment, great food, prizes, photos, and unforgettable memories, all in a terrific venue! This ball will take place in the Springtime which is when SoCal has it’s most famous cosplay gatherings!
Any type of cosplay is allowed including: Anime, Manga, Comics, Cartoons, Movies, Sci-Fi, Lolita, Steampunk, Visual-Kei, Jrock/Jpop, Original Characters, Crossplay, etc… If you prefer not to dress up, then we would encourage you to dress up formally to keep with the theme of our event.
